Belfast International sits west of the city in Antrim, and Northern Ireland — though sometimes overlooked in EV conversations — has a decent charging network, particularly around Belfast itself and the M2/M1 corridor.
Best Areas
Antrim Town
Close to the airport with a small but practical selection of hotels. Some have added EV charging in recent years. Good for early flights.
Belfast North (Newtownabbey, Glengormley)
About 20 minutes from the airport on the M2. Better hotel selection and improved EV infrastructure. A reasonable compromise between convenience and amenities.
Belfast City Centre
If you're happy making the airport run (30–40 minutes), staying in Belfast city centre gives you access to the best hotels and the most reliable EV charging in Northern Ireland. The city centre has multiple rapid chargers and hotel charging points.
Charging labels on Sento
Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel. A Sento Charging Promise is coming soon.
