About 10 minutes from the airport. Good range of hotels, solid EV provision, and good road and rail links. A practical base.
Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough
East of the airport, with more hotel choice and improving EV infrastructure in the town centres.
Durham City
Further north, about 30 minutes. If you want a stunning overnight stay — the cathedral city is spectacular — and don't mind the drive to the airport, Durham is excellent. Strong EV charging in the city.
