A day at the cricket is a long one. Get there early, stay for the last ball, and the last thing you want is a hunt for parking.
Parking on match days
Parking right by the big grounds is limited on match days, and the roads around them get busy. The easiest plan is to stay nearby, park at the hotel, and walk or take public transport in.
London grounds: Lord's and The Oval
Lord's is in St John's Wood and The Oval is in Kennington. Both are inside London's Ultra Low Emission Zone, which covers all of Greater London — check your car on TfL's vehicle checker before you set off.
Edgbaston, Birmingham
Birmingham has a Clean Air Zone in the city centre. Check your route and your vehicle on the official Brum Breathes site if you're driving in.
What to check before you book
- Does the hotel have parking, and is there a charge?
- Is it for the whole stay, or per night?
- How far is the walk, tube or tram to the ground?
- Need to charge? Turn on the EV Charging filter, then confirm with the hotel.
