A 5am flight is a very different animal after seven hours of sleep five minutes from the terminal, versus a 3am motorway drive from home. The park-stay-and-fly bundle — one night's room plus your car left in the hotel car park for the duration of your trip — is one of the quiet cheat codes of UK travel. But the details vary wildly, and the phrase "parking included" hides more than it reveals.
Here's what actually matters when you're booking a UK airport hotel with parking, and how to make sure the rate you see is the rate you pay.
What "parking included" really means
There are three flavours you'll see across the major UK airports:
One night's parking. Your car sits in the hotel car park while you sleep. On the day of your flight, you drive it to airport long-stay or drop-off. This is the default at most city-centre airport hotels — Manchester and Birmingham in particular — and it's the option that most closely matches the plain reading of "parking included."
Park, stay and fly (short trip). One night's room, plus your car left in the hotel car park for the duration of your trip, up to a set number of nights (usually 8, 15, or 22). The hotel either has its own long-stay compound or partners with a nearby off-airport car park and runs a shuttle. This is the classic bundle: cheaper than airport long-stay for anything over three or four nights, kinder to the alarm clock, and it removes the airport-parking scramble entirely.
Park, stay and fly (extended). Same as above but priced for stays of 10+ nights. Most properties around Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester run these year-round; Edinburgh and Bristol have grown their offering in the last two years. The nightly extra is usually £6–£12 per car per night beyond the first.
The airports where the bundle genuinely works
Not every airport is set up the same way. In rough order of maturity:
- Manchester — the deepest UK market for park-stay-and-fly. Hotels in Wilmslow, Hale and the terminal cluster all offer variations, and the shuttle infrastructure is well-oiled.
- Heathrow — dozens of properties around Bath Road, Harlington, Sipson and Colnbrook, most of which include a proper terminal shuttle. Terminal-side rooms (Sofitel T5, Hilton T4) are more expensive but you walk to your gate.
- Gatwick — solid provision either side of the terminals, especially around Copthorne and Horley. The North Terminal side has more choice.
- Stansted — increasingly good, especially the newer properties nearest the terminal.
- Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham, East Midlands — smaller but functional, mostly one or two dominant brands per site.
- Luton, Liverpool, Newcastle — patchier, always check the shuttle schedule before you book.

Reading the rate card
Sento shows the parking option on the room rate itself — not buried in the small print. When you're comparing, look for:
- Included parking duration. "One night" and "up to 8 nights" are very different products at very similar prices. If you're gone for two weeks, filter for a bundle that covers it.
- Shuttle frequency and hours. Most run every 20–30 minutes from 4am to midnight. If your flight lands at 1am, the shuttle window matters.
- Any per-night parking surcharge. For extended bundles, a small nightly fee sometimes applies. It should be visible on the rate before you book.
- Car size or height limits. Standard cars are always fine. Vans, roof boxes and towing may be restricted at some sites — flagged clearly on our listings.
Booking the whole thing on Sento
Pick your airport on the airport hotels for early flights page and we surface only properties with parking properly included in the rate. Filter by shuttle time or by "onsite parking" if you want to walk to the terminal in the morning. The price you see is the price you pay — no cheeky "resort fee" at check-in, no parking desk redirect.
Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel. A Sento Charging Promise is coming soon.
The short version
Cheap airport parking exists. Cheap airport parking with a hotel room attached often costs about the same, gets you an extra two hours in bed, and dodges the terminal-morning gauntlet entirely. If your flight is before 8am or your trip is longer than a long weekend, the bundle almost always wins.
Just check the parking is genuinely included — not "available at £15 per night on request."
