Aberdeen Airport is north of the city off the A96, and the area has seen strong growth in EV infrastructure — partly driven by energy sector workers who've made the switch to electric. It's a good-news story for EV drivers visiting the Granite City.
Where to Stay
Dyce
The suburb right next to the airport. Several hotels have EV charging here, and it's the most practical choice for early or late flights. Not the most scenic, but supremely convenient.
Aberdeen City Centre (West End and Union Street)
About 20 minutes from the airport. If you want to experience Aberdeen properly — granite architecture, excellent seafood, a genuinely buzzy city — staying central and running to the airport the next morning is the move. EV charging in the city centre is well-established.
Westhill
West of Aberdeen on the A944. A quieter option popular with business travellers in the energy sector. Good EV facilities at several hotels.
ChargePlace Scotland
Scotland's public charging network is excellent around Aberdeen. Many chargers are free. The Zap-Map app has live availability.
Charging labels on Sento
Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel. A Sento Charging Promise is coming soon.
