Glasgow Airport sits just west of the city in Paisley, and it's well-connected to the M8 — Scotland's main motorway corridor. EV charging infrastructure in the greater Glasgow area has grown significantly, making this one of the easier Scottish airports to arrive at in an electric vehicle.
Best Areas to Stay
Paisley
Right on the airport's doorstep. A practical choice with several hotels offering parking and, increasingly, EV charging. Shuttle connections to the terminals are straightforward.
Glasgow West End (Finnieston, Partick)
About 15 minutes east on the M8. If you want to stay somewhere with great restaurants, bars and city vibes before a morning flight, the West End is brilliant. EV charging is well distributed here.
Erskine and Bishopton
South of the airport across the Clyde. Quieter, more suburban, and some good hotel options with EV facilities. Slightly longer drive to the terminal but usually easy going.
ChargePlace Scotland
Scotland's government-backed charging network has excellent coverage in the Glasgow area. Many points are free to use. The Zap-Map app shows live availability.
Charging labels on Sento
Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel. A Sento Charging Promise is coming soon.
