Inverness Airport is the gateway to the Scottish Highlands and one of the most scenic arrival points in the UK. ChargePlace Scotland's network has made the Highlands more EV-accessible than many expect, though ranges of 100+ miles between chargers are still possible on more remote routes.
Where to Stay
Inverness City Centre
10 minutes from the airport. Inverness has a surprisingly good range of hotels, from budget chains to boutique Highland stays. EV charging is well-established in the city centre and retail parks.
Nairn
East of the airport on the coast, with some lovely hotels. A quieter, more scenic alternative to city staying. EV charging here is more limited.
Culloden and Balloch
The rural areas immediately around the airport have some excellent country house hotels. Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel.
Charging in the Highlands
Plan carefully beyond Inverness. ChargePlace Scotland has done excellent work, but remote Highland routes require real range planning. Zap-Map's route planning tool is invaluable here.
Charging labels on Sento
Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel. A Sento Charging Promise is coming soon.
