Newcastle Airport sits north of the city off the A696, and the Metro connects it directly to the city centre — which gives EV drivers the option of staying in town and taking the train to the terminal. That said, there are solid hotel options close to the airport itself.
Around the Airport
Ponteland
The nearest village to the airport, with a small but solid selection of hotels. EV charging is available at some properties, though the choice is more limited than at larger airport clusters.
Newcastle North and Gosforth
A 10–15 minute drive from the airport, but far better choice of hotels and EV charging. Gosforth in particular has several well-equipped hotels that have invested in EV infrastructure.
The Metro Option
If you're parking and flying, driving to a hotel in Newcastle, charging overnight, then taking the Metro to the airport the next morning is a genuinely good option. Cheaper than airport parking, and you arrive at the terminal fresh.
Charging labels on Sento
Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel. A Sento Charging Promise is coming soon.
