The New Forest is one of England's oldest landscapes — ancient woodland, heathland, and free-roaming ponies. It's also a surprisingly good EV destination.
Charging in the New Forest
The New Forest itself has some public charging at car parks and visitor centres. Key towns:
- Lyndhurst — the New Forest capital, public charging in the main car park
- Lymington — ferry town with good charging
- Burley — village with some provision
- Brockenhurst — good for train connections if you want to combine with rail
Southampton and Bournemouth on the edges both have strong EV infrastructure — good bases.
Classic Route
Southampton → Lyndhurst → Burley → Fordingbridge → Ringwood → Beaulieu → Lymington → Hythe → Southampton. Around 90 miles.
