The Yorkshire Dales National Park is a patchwork of limestone valleys, market towns and Viking names — and it's a wonderful EV destination.
Charging in the Dales
The Dales is less densely charged than cities, but key market towns have charge points:
- Skipton — the southern gateway to the Dales, good public charging
- Harrogate — excellent charging, a great base
- Richmond — northern Dales, growing provision
- Leyburn — Wensleydale hub, limited but some public chargers
Strategy: charge fully at your hotel overnight. Don't rely on rapid charging within the park.
Classic Routes
The Three Peaks Drive: Settle → Horton-in-Ribblesdale → Hawes → Aysgarth → Leyburn. About 70 miles. Charge in Settle before you go.
Wharfedale: Ilkley → Bolton Abbey → Burnsall → Grassington → Buckden. Beautiful. Around 40 miles.
