York is one of England's most visited cities — medieval walls, the Shambles, the Minster — and it's becoming increasingly EV-friendly. The city has invested in charging as part of its sustainable tourism agenda.
Public Charging in York
- York City Council has deployed on-street chargers across the city, including near the railway station and in key car parks
- Pod Point at supermarkets on the outskirts
- BP Pulse in city centre car parks
The Park and Ride scheme in York accepts EVs, and several of the Park and Ride car parks have added EV charging — a smart option for visiting the historic centre without driving in.
