The Lake District is England's largest National Park and one of its most visited. For EV drivers, it's a brilliant destination — the routes are manageable in range terms, and charging infrastructure has improved significantly.
Key Charging Locations
- Kendal — good public charging on the M6 corridor, a natural arrival point
- Windermere — the Lake District's main tourist town has solid public charging
- Keswick — northern Lakes hub, charge points in the town centre car parks
- Ambleside — good public charging, central location
- Penrith — M6 J40, excellent charging for those arriving from the south or north
The M6 southbound and northbound both have solid rapid charging at Killington Lake and Burton services.
