North Wales is one of the UK's most dramatic landscapes — Snowdonia, the Llyn Peninsula, Anglesey, the medieval castle towns — and it's increasingly accessible for EV drivers.
The Route
A classic North Wales loop from Manchester or the Midlands:
Chester → Rhyl → Llandudno → Conwy → Bangor → Caernarfon → Llyn Peninsula → Snowdonia → Llangollen → Chester
Around 300–350 miles total.
Charging in North Wales
The Welsh Government has invested in EV infrastructure, and the ChargePlace Wales network has good coverage across the region:
- Llandudno: public charging in the main car parks
- Bangor: University and city centre charging
- Caernarfon: castle town with public charge points
- Betws-y-Coed: National Park visitor centre charging
- Llangollen: town centre charging
The Llyn Peninsula is more limited — charge in Pwllheli if you're venturing to the tip.
