The Tesla Model Y overtook the Model 3 as the UK's best-selling EV and is now one of the most commonly seen cars on British roads. Here's the definitive charging guide.
Model Y Charging Specs
- DC Supercharging: up to 250kW (Long Range and Performance)
- AC: up to 11kW (3-phase, on Long Range)
- Range: around 310–340 miles (Long Range, real-world UK)
Tesla Supercharger Network
The UK Supercharger network is the best argument for owning a Tesla in the UK. With over 40 Supercharger sites (and growing), you're rarely far from a reliable, fast top-up. Tesla's navigation automatically routes you via Superchargers when needed.

Third-Party Charging
The Model Y uses CCS for DC charging (on UK models since 2021), meaning it works with all major UK networks — Gridserve, BP Pulse, Osprey, and others. This makes it one of the most network-compatible EVs you can buy.
Hotel Charging
The Model Y's 11kW AC charging (on Long Range) is useful at 3-phase hotel chargers — a full charge from 20% takes around 8 hours. Standard Range models charge at up to 7.2kW.
Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel.
