Where to Charge a Tesla Model 3 in the UK

The Tesla Model 3 owner's guide to charging in the UK — Superchargers, third-party networks, and finding hotels with EV charging on Sento.

The Tesla Model 3 is the UK's best-selling EV — so charging infrastructure has, largely, caught up with it. Here's a complete picture of your options.

    Tesla Supercharger Network

Tesla's own Supercharger network is the gold standard for speed and reliability. The UK has over 40 Supercharger sites and growing, with hubs at motorway services (Moto, Welcome Break, and Extra all have Tesla presence), in town centres, and at retail parks.

    Key UK Supercharger locations include:

    • Grantham — excellent for north-south journeys on the A1
    • Cherwell Valley (M40) — London-Birmingham corridor
    • Leigh Delamere (M4) — London-Bristol-Wales
    • Exeter (M5) — gateway to the south west
    • Wetherby (A1/M1) — Yorkshire hub

The Tesla app shows live bay availability. Prices vary — check the app before you arrive.

    Third-Party Networks

The Model 3 has a CCS connector (on newer UK models) as well as Tesla's proprietary connector, meaning it can use virtually any UK public charger with the right cable.

    • Gridserve — reliable rapid and ultra-rapid charging, good coverage
    • BP Pulse — widespread but variable quality
    • Osprey — strong in areas underserved by Gridserve

    Charging at Hotels

For overnight stays, a 7kW or 22kW Type 2 charger will comfortably top up your Model 3 overnight. You need around 8–10 hours at 7kW to go from 10% to 100% on the Standard Range. Long Range takes a bit longer.

Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel. Search for your destination and filter for EV-friendly properties. A Sento Charging Promise is coming soon.

How Far Will a Model 3 Go?

    • Standard Range: ~260 miles (real-world UK)
    • Long Range: ~350 miles (real-world UK)
    • Performance: ~340 miles (real-world UK)

Cold weather reduces these figures. In winter, plan charging stops 20% more frequently.
