The Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is one of the UK's best-selling PHEVs — a practical family SUV that's excellent for mixed driving.
RAV4 PHEV Charging Specs
- AC maximum: 3.3kW (Type 2, single-phase)
- Battery: approximately 14kWh usable
- Electric range: around 46 miles (WLTP)
Charging Strategy
The RAV4 PHEV's 3.3kW maximum charging speed means a full charge from flat takes around 4.5 hours. It cannot use DC rapid chargers — AC only.
This is fine for overnight hotel charging — plug in, sleep, wake up with a full 46 miles of electric range. But it means any "fast" public charger won't actually charge much faster than a domestic socket.
