The Kia EV6 shares its 800V architecture with the Hyundai IONIQ 5 — which means it's one of the fastest-charging EVs you can buy in the UK. Here's how to make the most of it.
EV6 Charging Specs
- DC ultra-rapid: up to 240kW
- AC: up to 11kW (3-phase)
- Range: around 290–315 miles (real-world UK, GT-Line S)
The 800V Advantage
Like the IONIQ 5, the EV6 can add significant range very quickly at high-power chargers. The challenge in the UK is finding chargers that can actually deliver 150kW+. Gridserve, some BP Pulse Ultra sites, and Osprey's newer hubs are your best bet.
For everyday charging — commuting and hotel stays — the 11kW AC capability is the relevant figure. A full overnight charge is achievable in 6–7 hours at 11kW.

Finding Hotels
Stays on Sento are labelled charging on-site, charging nearby or standard — confirm charging with the property or a live charging map such as Zapmap before you travel. For EV6 owners who want to make the most of their car's AC charging capability, this distinction matters. A Sento Charging Promise is coming soon.
